Watermark OC Church in Costa Mesa, California launched in September 2012. The idea for the church began when two pastor friends, Bucky Dennis and John Blue, began talking, dreaming and praying about the potential an authentic and adventurous community of Christ-followers could have if they were committed to intentionally engaging and serving their neighborhoods and circles of influence. As they continued to meet and pray they realized they could accomplish this vision “Better Together.”
As a result, God began to put it upon the hearts of the Elders of both churches – Pathways and Pacific Pointe – to join together in order to accomplish the vision to reach every man, woman, and child in Orange County with the Gospel. The decision to merge the two churches became final on May 29th, 2012 when the Elders of both churches voted unanimously to unite together as one church that would become Watermark OC Church in Costa Mesa.
From the very beginning Watermark has been part of a much bigger story than our own. In our first year God used us to start a new church called Mision El Camino to serve the people of Santa Ana. Soon after God put it on the heart of pastor Scott Williams and Echo church in Costa Mesa to merge with Watermark and our “Better Together” vision.
God continues to grow, change, challenge and guide Watermark to accomplish His mission. As our story continues to unfold through His story we invite you to be part. Browse our web and if you have any questions contact any of our staff members. Then come check out a Sunday service. There’s something for everyone including great music, Biblical teaching, children’s and youth programming; and people who care more about where you’re headed than where you’ve been.
